About the Vera International Photo Club

History and Foundation

The Vera International Photo Club was established in Vera nearly twenty years ago by Stan Roberts. Since its inception, the club has served as a hub for individuals passionate about photography, providing numerous opportunities for members to come together and share their enthusiasm for the art form.

Meetings and Events

The club regularly organises meetings and events designed for people with an interest in photography. These gatherings offer a friendly and welcoming atmosphere where members can exchange their experiences, showcase their work, and inspire one another to further their creative pursuits.

Supportive Environment

A core value of the club is to foster an environment where photographers of all skill levels—beginners, advanced enthusiasts, and (former) professionals—can support each other. The aim is to help every member develop their own unique approach and personal identity in photography, grounded in mutual respect and equality.

Encouraging Creativity

The club is committed to stimulating creativity and self-assessment among its members. To maintain this focus, scores and classification systems are not used for internal activities. On occasions when the club takes part in friendly competitions that do involve such systems, the results are accepted in full; however, these outcomes are not utilised internally for any other purpose.

Membership and Ethos

As an open club, the Vera International Photo Club does not charge admission fees, ensuring accessibility for all interested individuals. The club’s ethos is rooted in complete respect for differing opinions, encouraging constructive debate within a non-offensive manner. Any form of abuse—whether occurring at events, in live discussions, online, or on social media—is strictly not tolerated.

En ocasiones en las que el club participa en competiciones amistosas que involucran tales sistemas, los resultados se aceptan en su totalidad; sin embargo, estos resultados no se utilizan internamente para ningún otro propósito.

Como club abierto, el Vera International Photo Club no cobra tarifas de admisión, lo que garantiza la accesibilidad para todas las personas interesadas.
